The unwritten rules and assumptions in a society often are more powerful than their constitutions. They guide behaviors and interactions with each other and are the de facto manual of what is success and what is a failure.
Here are some of the unwritten rules of how Albanians live life. Thoughts from the discussions during a worldview course.

1. Thirst for Freedom

2. Success is determined by promotions-power-positions-possessions

3. Connections are necessary

4. Bribery is necessary to get things done

5. Each person is always looking out for himself

6. The end justifies the means

7. Success is a zero-sum-game –I win, someone will lose & vice versa

8. All obey the law to avoid punishment

9. Public property belongs to no one

10. Shame peer pressure, others, opinions, and matter

11. Fatalism-hopeless

12. Mysticism

13. Motivation by comparison

14. Authority has greater weight than critical thinking

15. Culture of Suspicion

16. Leadership tends to be dictatorship-Followers are servile
